about
Decima makes dream pop about deeply unfortunate things. Lush, slow and sincere songs about a man who moved to escape a war and watched it end in his parlour, a smoke alarm that loves you too much, and a fern drowned with affection. The music plays it straight. The lyrics don't.
The name comes from Decima, the old Dutch spelling of Dejima, the island in Nagasaki harbour where the Dutch traded with Japan. Made at home in Amsterdam, with AI-generated instruments and a real voice.
